Transcriptions: 3 Strands
[6 intervals of 3 strings relaxing gradually.]
Kangaroo is a particle physics modelling component for Grasshopper that Daniel Piker is writing. One early example of its capacities is a catenary solver (which is becoming a common test problem to demonstrate nascent methods of digital form-finding). Kangaroo has potential as a rudimentary way to sketch structural behavior/failure.
While accurately reproducing physical interactions is useful, these tools invite the modelling of imaginary rather than realistic physical forces. Static geometries begin to act out the desiring impulses that they inherit from their instructions.

Transcriptions: 5 Moments
Dimitri Stefenescu has developed an implementation of agent based behavior based on numerous previous experiments descended from the classical Reynold's Boids.

Causa Finita
Roma Locuta, Causa Finita is emanation of judgement from a symbolic authority which cuts down the possibility of a situation in formation which is in the process of escaping the constituted authority's notion of propriety. Rome has Spoken, The Case is Closed. Slavoj Zizek inverts this phrase to signal the resistance to hegemony that is born locally in the contemporary multitude: "Causa Locuta, Roma Finita".
A slightly different reading: 'Causa Locuta' implies the sudden coming-together of the parts of an ambiguous situation. The event suddenly takes on its own direction which is greater than the average impulses of the milieu and actors involved.

We are interested in difficult and ambiguous objects, moments, processes, situations. And we are interested in the speculative probing of curious people who approach these situations through sketchbooks, mathematics, drawings, cartographies, scripts, choreographies and re-constructions.
The precise construction of an elegant response has a lightness and resistance that prevents easy absorption.

John Hedjuk hung a remark of Robbe-Grillet concerning Kafka on the wall of his office: "The hallucinatory effect derives from the extraordinary clarity and not from mystery or mist."
